Pickup Install and Bridge Replacement

The luthier services we offer are focused on properly installing, wiring and intonating a Prismatone Pickup on your nylon string guitar of choice. We offer two installation methods. One approach modifies the existing bridge on your guitar without removing it. The other approach replaces your existing bridge with one of our new custom Prismatone bridge styles. We're happy to talk with you once you've purchased a Prismatone to help you choose the best approach.

Luthier Services

Pickup and New Bridge install

Our lutherie services are focused around properly installing, wiring and intonating a Prismatone™ pickup on your nylon string guitar of choice, either with or without a pre-amp. We offer two installation methods.

One modifies the existing bridge on your guitar without removing it, the other replaces your existing bridge with one of your new Prismatone™ bridge styles. Were happy to talk with you once you've purchased a Prismatone™ to help you choose the best of action. For some guitars it's easier to modify the existing bridge and can be more affordable to do so. For other guitars, particularly vintage instruments that we might want to revert back to original in the future, a bridge replacement is a better option.

Don't want a new bridge?

As an alternative to replacing your existing guitar bridge with one of our custom Prismatone™ bridges, we’ve developed a technique that allows us to modify the original bridge on some guitar models to install a Prismatone™ Pickup. This is a simpler installation process that may be a good approach for some, but not all, guitars.

We offer this installation option as part of our lutherie services and we’re always happy to talk with you to help determine if bridge modification or bridge replacement is the best choice for your guitar.

Luthier Pricing

The cost for installation can vary depending on the guitar, its condition and the method you prefer to install the Prismatone™ Pickup including any additional modifications or accessories depending on your preferred configuration (ie with or without a pre-amp, with soundhole volume and tone control wheels etc.)

For the bridge modification method of installation expect to pay from $500 to $1000 on average.

For the bridge removal and replacement method expect to pay anywhere from $1000 to $1800 depending on your guitar and preferred configuration.

If you opt to hire an experienced luthier in your area we're happy to help them out with any input they may need to install a new bridge and Prismatone correcctly. Just don’t hire a hack job!
